Artists Bio

I was raised in an environment that inspired creativity and independent thinking. When my parents weren't creating projects to keep me busy they were renovating their 18th century Victorian home or they were creating art themselves. My mother was a textile artist using brightly colored velvets to paint her pictures. My father was a gourmet vegetarian chef using food to inspire his diner's palettes. I spent most of my time alone talking to myself and creating things with my hands. I haven't changed much over the years.

I have never lived any where longer than four years in my life and have been blessed enough to live in some of the West Coast's most beautiful places including the Napa Valley, Santa Barbara, Salt Lake City and Vancouver, Canada. The natural beauty of these places inspires me to feed my craving for painting. Since I am still a starving artist I find canvases in everything from old discarded umbrellas to wooden wine boxes. I find them in my environment and use them as a starting point for inspiration. These found objects help me to paint freely without hurting my budget.

I have a bold vibrant palette and enjoy placing colours in a painting that are nearer to fantasy than they are to reality. Besides using the bold colours to tell the story of my painting I use the texture of the paint to draw attention to the brush strokes. I paint landscapes but also paint extreme close ups of flowers people and anything else I find inspiring. I paint like I live my life, zealously.

Observe something you admirE?

 have A vision?

 there are INFINITE possibilities

I will create or recreate... If you see something but you know it won't fit in the space you have or the colors are just not right... If you have a picture that you would like to see transferred to canvas... If you have an image that you can convey through words... If you have a need for something but you're just not clear on what that is...

See it realized. Please contact me lickety-split.
